Brendon turned 9 years old!!!
Well, yesterday was Brendon's 9th birthday. I can't believe it. In a year, I will have been a mom for a full decade...How strange is that???
Anyway, Brendon wanted so badly to have a party at Laser Quest, but there was just no way with it costing $13 a child, and that doesn't include anything. We decided it would be best to have a sleepover at our house. The kids could have fun and it was more cost effecient. Brendon was really excited about this idea, so Saturday night we had 6 boys spend the night.
I started feeling a little apprehensive about it after hearing horror stories of sleepovers from other parents. It actually turned out really great. We had a blast.
We let Brendon have his head shaved into a semi mohawk for his birthday party. Here he is showing off his new style.
The first thing that the boys wanted to do was play video games in Brendon's room. We rented several so that they would be entertained all evening.
He is such a goofball.
Holly and her daughter, Alyssa came early in the evening to celebrate with us.

Brendon had an awesome cake of a baseball diamond.

Digging in to cake!
After cake and ice cream, it was time to open his presents. He really loved everything that he got and has been playing with all of his new things. Everyone was very generous with their gifts.

This is one of my favorite times of the night. Eric and I got Brendon a bat bag for baseball, and when I handed him the gift, he said "Oh, this must be from my mom and dad" He has never called Eric dad, and I was so touched.

After all of the other guests went home we cleaned up the mess, and then started setting up sleeping bags in the living room. At about 10:30 we shipped all of the boys into the living room for a movie. We were hoping to tire them out. I popped popcorn for everyone, and they started to settle down. They were all asleep by 1am, including Eric, who stayed with them in the living room.
