Congratulations
CONGRATULATIONS to the Bullets. Brendon's team managed to pull it together, and they won the championship game. They are #1 out of 14 teams! What an accomplishment. This is actually the 3rd season in a row that Brendon has been on the championship team. Brendon consistantly played very good defense on 1st base throughout the game. As soon as I get the scanner hooked up, I will post the pics that were taken of him during the tournament. I was somewhat embarrassed by Brendon during the awards ceremony. All the kids had gotten Oreos, a drink, and ice cream. When it was time to shake the hand of the director of machine pitch baseball, Brendon was the only kid that didn't set any of his food down to shake his hand. He had ice cream all over his face, and no free hands. Now, all of the other boys set their food down to get their medals, but not my son. Therefore, there are no decent pics to post of him getting his medal.
After the game, Brendon's coach informed him that he had been nominated to play all stars this summer. He was supposed to have to try out, but a coach that knows him, picked him up to play on his team. So much for the end of baseball season... There is one last tournament for his Challenge team this weekend. Four games, 2 Saturday 2 Sunday. I had no idea what kind of dedication was involved for your children to play competitive baseball. It is not just the kids that have to be dedicated, but really the parents too. I just want all of you out there that want your kids to play sports when they get older, that if your kids are really good at a particular sport, and they want to play competitively, be prepared! When Brendon started T-ball, I had no idea that it would grow to this. I just thought it would be fun to put him into a sport. Now, 2 years later, we are at the ballfield at least 5-6 days a week, for about 3 hours at a time. I believe it is good for him, and after all of this dedication and time, I hope that he continues to play ball through high school.
In other news, I think that we may have a somewhat dramatic preteen on our hands. I am not sure what age preteen is, but after finding this letter from Brendon in his room the other morning, I am convinced that he must be approaching his teens. The letter read:
"I left to go somewhere were someone love me. Don't come looking for me.
Your son,
Brendon"
At first, I really had to laugh. I had a long talk with him, and explained that if he left where would he go? There would be nobody to feed him, take him to school, take him to baseball, or do special things with him. He said that he was just mad, and he would never really try to run away. Wow, I am really not prepared for these upcoming years!

Oh my goodness! That note made my mouth drop open. So dramatic! If that happens at this house, I'm going to ask for you to come over and help - you always handle things so well!
Congratulations to the Bullets AND Brendon! That is fantastic news!
