Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

NST

I had to have a Non Stress Test early yesterday morning. I have been having lots of contractions when I get up and move around, and the doctor just wanted to make sure that everything was ok with the little guy. It turned out that all was fine, and my doctor said it is normal to have up to six contractions an hour at this point in my pregnancy. I was just kind of worried b/c I never had Braxton-Hicks with Brendon, and it is a little scary. Luckily, everything was good, and baby looks great. Eric is painting the nursery today, so get prepared for pictures.

In other news, we have gotten Brendon a therapist and a mentor. He is obviously coping with too much for him to deal with right now, so we thought it would be best to get him some help before he becomes a teenager. I think it will be a great experience for him. They have recommended a female therapist b/c he is coping with issues of abandonment from a man (his father). They have given him a male mentor, so that he can take him to play and to games, and it is a man he can trust. I have to say this behavior couldn't have come at a worse time with me expecting a new baby and all. My heart really goes out for Brendon and everything he is going through, but I cannot let his acting out continue. Let just hope he will actually open up, and let the therapy work for him. Otherwise we are in for some very long years ahead of us... Please pray for Brendon and his healing. God is the only one that can heal that brokeness in his heart...

Otherwise we are in for some very long years ahead of us...**....my daughter just turned 11 (the situation with her is similar; she is my daughter from my first marriage. her biological father has absolutely nothing to do with her (or any of his other kids, for that matter). my husband of 9 years adopted her not long after we got married. we have been having a lot of probs. with her acting out as well. i dont know if it is age/hormones, father issues, or mentsl illness (which she could have inherited from either side of the family). we are considering starting her in therapy as well. we have had a lot of positive results with karate. they are really good about promoting respect and responsibility for ones actions. i think its almost worse for madison to have to go in and talk to her sensei about her behavior than any punishment i could come up with at home. if you are interested....she takes classes at ormazas family karate in dallas,nc. good luck!!!
