Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

The Wonderful World of Brendon

I swear sometimes I think that my son is a 30 year-old trapped in the body of a 7 year-old. The things that come out of that child's mouth. I have decided to start documenting more of the hilarious statements that he says. Welcome to the wonderful world of Brendon:

Mommy: Brendon I don't want you to play your
PSP tonight.
Brendon: Actually, as it turns out, my PSP is not
working tonight anyway.

Mommy: Are you ready for Carowinds
tomorrow?
Brendon: Yes
Mommy: I can't hear you...
Brendon: Yes
Mommy: That doesn't sound like you want to go...
Brendon: Ok, I am going to say this once, and
only once, so listen closely, YES!!!

Uncle Jason: Brendon, you can't go play golf
today, I won't let you (jokingly).
Brendon: You don't control me!!!

Mommy: No, Brendon I am not buying those
playing cards for you, they cost too
much.
Brendon: Well, then I will buy them with my own
money.
Mommy: Ok, you do that.
Brendon: 10 bucks, that's a ripoff!!!

As I am sure that you can see, there is no question that he is my child. I have really started noticing that he emulates everything that I say and do. It has made me wake up and start paying attention to what I am doing, because I know he certainly is. The thing is, he acts like it all goes over his head, but he is absorbing it like a sponge!

All I have to say to my friends with younger children, BE CAREFUL! Just when you think your kids aren't noticing your actions, they are soaking it all up and will very soon regurgitate everything you have ever said back at you.
These are all things that he has said since just yesterday. I hear this stuff all of the time. I just think it is funny, but it does make me see how much of an influence I am on him.

HA HA!! That "Ten dollars! That's a rip-off" comment made me laugh out loud. And the first comment, when he used the word "actually." I just think it's so funny when kids use words like "actually."

Brendon is such a bright kid! He sounds and acts very clever. Joe couldn't get over his wit. He kept saying how he hopes Sam will be like that one day.

You're so right about him talking like a little adult. I'm always telling my friends the things he says. It just cracks me up sometimes. Children are little sponges and they do repeat everything we say. He sounds like a little Amy walking around!! He's my precious grandson. There's nobody in the world that could ever compare to him. Of course, I love his mommy too!!!
