Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

Going to College

Brendon came to school with me the other day to see what college was like. He fit in very well. I couldn't believe my eyes when he sat through two 1 1/2 hour classes back to back. Is this the same child that won't even sit down long enough to eat his dinner? I really enjoyed bringing him to school with me and I got all of the compliments about how cute he was. He even had his bookbag with him! After going to class, I let him come to the school cafeteria with me. He thought that our cafeteria was "cool". After we ate our lunch, I decided that it would be a good idea for him to check out some books from the enourmous selection at our library. He loved that it is several stories high, and he got some books that he really wanted to read (that is my way of tricking him into reading). I am hoping that this will be a good advertisment for college. I want to place emphasis on education while he is still very impressionable. Taking him to school with me was actually a great experience.

I also had a long debate with myself on whether or not to just pull him out of summer camp and take him to school with me. It would save me alot of money, but I just couldn't make him sit through classes all day when it is his summer break.

Aww, B-ben likes college! That is so cute!

I can't believe he sat thru those classes! I had a hard time sitting through 1 class at a time! He's such a great kid :)

Also impressed he sat through classes. I think you are very wise to take him with you, Amy. Is there any way you could take him with you just a a day or two a week to try and save $?

I wish that I could, but the summer camps will only take a child for the entire week. There is no part-time. Oh well, only a few weeks left. I will be broke by then, but Brendon will have had lots of summer fun!

That stinks about the costs of summer camp. Good lord! That IS expensive! And when did Carowinds get to be so darn much???

I'm also impressed B-ben sat through classes. It was hard enough for me when I was 18!

Are you kidding me, Mr I can't be still for 2 seconds, sat still in college? That floors me. Just last night after we ate pizza, Ron went in to the grocery store and when I asked him why he got out of his seat he said "Because I can't sit still that long." He had only been in the seat maybe 5 minutes at the most. Jason never could sit still either when he was little!!
