Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

Quick Update

Well, yesterday I went for another doctors appointment. I am now 15 weeks, and I can still wear alot of my regular clothes. I am not showing, and I have to tell people that I am pregnant. Eric was starting to worry b/c he thought I ought to show by now, but the way I see it, I have 5 more months to be huge. This time around I had gained 2 lbs., and the doctor measured me and said that I was measuring just perfect. I will be having another ultrasound on September 29th to confirm the sex of the baby. If it is a boy, his name will be Lucas Gabriel White. He will not go by Luke. Brendon wants it to be a boy so badly. He is finally getting more excited about having a sibling. He even enjoyed looking at baby clothes with me!

Now for a Brendon update... Brendon is trying to get acclomated to a new school and a new town. He had a little bit of trouble at first, but now he seems to be doing better. I love his school and his teacher. We had a meeting the other day about his dyslexia. I hated thinking that he is in special needs classes, but he has special needs so I am learning to accept it. He is in a regular classroom with regular kids, but has all kinds of special arrangements. He is pulled out of class 4 days a week for and hour to work on reading, spelling, and vocabulary. Every time there is a test, he is pulled out of class, and he gets extra time. They weren't going to have special arrangements for math, but since so many of the problems are word problems, they changed that too. He is pulled out for math tests, and any word problems are read aloud to him. When his IQ was tested, he tested to have a "superior" IQ in math. I think next year they will have to put him in AG math just so he doesn't get too bored. He is better in math than I am!
Also, Brendon has started back playing baseball. These people over here are really serious about baseball. The coach makes them practice 3 1/2 hours on Saturdays! Brendon is still very passionate about playing. This year he has made a tremendous leap. The coach he was put with decided he was good enough to "play up". This means that Brendon plays with mostly 11 and 12 year old boys that play All Stars together. I was afraid he might get intimidated. So far he is proving that he is just as good as they are. Last night was the first game, and his team played great, and they won. Brendon hit one ball way out in the outfield. I am so proud of him. I think this is probably the best coach he has ever had. This is looking like it will be a great season. I can't believe in less than two years he will be playing ball for his middle school!!!
