Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

Back to School

I have decided to return to school in the fall, after a two year break. I will be taking the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admissions Test) in August, again. I will also be taking the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test), and applying for graduate school. I have one hour left to complete my degree in Chemistry, and then I can begin working towards a graduate degree or go to professional school. As most of you know, I have wanted to go to pharmacy school since I was 16. My advisor actually told me I have a better chance of getting into medical school. Since these are my options, I am going to apply to both Pharmacy School and Medical school in the fall, and pray that someone lets me in. Just in case I don't get into either, I will already be working on a graduate degree. UNCC has an accelerated masters degree program in chemistry, and I could finish that in a little over a year. This is going to be an extremely hard transition, but I feel like it is worth the work. Brendon is now at the age that he can do alot of his work on his own, and I don't want to be stuck in a job that I cannot move up in without another degree. I am going to see my advisor next Friday to discuss all of these issues with her. Wish me luck!

Kick ass, amy! Good for you!

Also, if you become a Dr, I fully expect free treatment for me and my entire extended family. Or, you can become a Vet...especially since you're not a big animal person, you won't get all emotional about it :)

I'm so proud of you!

I know that I don't tell you enough, but I'm so proud of you. I'm so glad that you have chosen to go back to school. I didn't want to see you give up your dreams. You said that it doesn't seem like to you that your dad and I want you to go back to school. Nothing could be further from the truth. I guess I just worry about it being too much on you with a job and a child, but if anybody can do it you can. I have all he confidence in he world in you!! You're very smart and I know you can do this!!! No matter what you do, I'll always be there for you and I think you know that!!! Love you always!!!

Your proud Mom!!!
