Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

The Attitude Has Got To Go!!!

I just had to post this little story about something that happened last night with Brendon.
He punched my brother in the place that it counts, intentionally. I told him that he was going to have to go to bed early to think about what he had done. He proceeded to throw an enourmous dramatic fit. I told him to brush his teeth, and so he went in the bathroom. I snuck up on him, and overheard him whispering that he hates me. I said, "How do you think it makes me feel to hear that you hate me?" I just wanted to add to his guilt a little bit. He then burst into a crying fit because he felt so bad that I heard him say that.
I finally got him in the bed, and I told him that I don't want to go to the movies, or roller skating, or laser tag, or baseball games for a child that hates me. And I walked out of the room without a hug or anything. I wanted him to understand how powerful those words can be. He told me not to put covers on him, just so that he could be difficult. I said "Fine, I guess you will be cold"
Later that evening, I went in to cover him up, and I just about peed in my pants with laughter when I saw him. My son was lying down on his stomach and had put a piece of paper on his back. He still had no covers on, and there was a note on the paper for me. It said, "Don't put nething on me." I very quickly burst into laughter at the note he had left for me in case I went into his room to cover him up.
The first thing he said to me this morning was, " I am sorry for hurting your feelings, Mommy."

Holy Crap, I wish you had your camera! How funny is that?! Brendon is nothing, if not clever. He's gonna be a handful.

Also, where *does* he get that stubborness from? I do know where he gets that bad temper, though :)

Ha ha ha! Your post had me laughing out loud. OI know him punching your brother in the privates isn't funny, but him writing you a note like that certainly is. Oh, B-Ben! Too funny!

How sweet he apologized to you, too. I know he loves and adores his mommy. I saw all the cuddling he did the other day. :)

I desperately needed this laugh Amy! I wish you had been able to get a picture - this is classic and will be one you retell for years. Now as for that attitude, surely it isn't genetic?
