Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

Happy Anniversary to us! It's been one crazy year...

Eric and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday. It has been a crazy year. 2 weeks after we were married we closed on our house, then 3 weeks after the wedding, I was pregnant. We moved, in January, Eric lost his job, then in Feb. we had a baby, then Eric got a job to get us through for a few months. It has been a wild and crazy year for us. I think we crammed as much life change in one year as we could. We are happier than ever, and hoping that all of the future years are not this crazy. Eric, I am so glad I get to spend my life with you:)
To celebrate our anniversary, we went to Mt. Airy and Yadkinville to visit the NC vineyards. Those of you that know me, know that I am a wine conniseur (sp?). We had a fantastic time, and stayed at one of the nicest Bed and Breakfasts around. The cabin was beutiful and the breakfast was great! It was nestled in the woods of Pilot Mountain. The best thing about this Bed and breakfast, is that everyone has their own cabin, with it's own entrance. We took lots of pics, and we were able to reconnect. It is hard to spend time with your spouse when you have a new baby. Both of the kids stayed at my parents house. Gabe did fantastic away from home.

This picture was taken at The Old North State Winery. We took a tour, and got to see how they make all of their wines. We also did a tasting, and all of it was really good. My new favorite wine is Muscadine wine. It is actually better for you than red wine. This place also had a great story. Before it was a winery, it was a hardware store, and they carried explosives. In 1904, the building exploded, and in 1914 when they went in to excavate the building for the winery, they found an arm in the basement. She showed us exactly where the arm was found. That was neat.

This is a picture of our room a the Bed and Breakfast. Obviously we had already made ourselves at home. You can see all of our stuff lying around. You can still see how lovely our room was.

This is me standing on our own private walkway up to our cabin. Drinking some wine, of course. It was a trip about wine, after all.

Pics of me and Eric sitting on the porch of our cabin. We really enjoyed sitting out there. When it started to rain, it was so peaceful. Did I mention we all had tin roofs? The rain sounded awesome on the roof.

This was the view of Pilot Mountain from the breakfast room. It was a beutiful scene to look at while eating our yummy breakfast.
