Amy's blog

This is a blog about me, Amy,my husband, Eric, and my son's Brendon and Gabriel. I really just want a space to write down all of the little things that you forget in everyday life. I have started this blog to have a place to remember all of Brendon's (and now Gabriel's) little antics and the funny things that he says and does.

Wedding update

Ok, I know some of you have inquired about wedding details, so here go's. The plans are well under way, and I am sooooo exicted. Eric and I will be getting married on May 18th, which is a Sunday. The actual ceremony will be only for immediate family. We feel that we want our joining in marraige to be special and intimate. Our pastor has agreed to marry us, and we are going to have Brendon very involved with the ceremony. The place that we will be married is still undecided. Eric and I haven't agreed on that part yet.

We will be doing our wedding reception at a place called 1523 The Loft, in uptown. It is a very upscale maritini bar with an absolutely beutiful view of the city. The location is perfect for me and Eric's taste. As of right now we are inviting somewhere in the ballpark of 150 people. My mom, grandmother, and aunt have all offered to do the food, so I took them up on it. If we do the food ourselves, I can really save some money. Many of the details have already been taken care of. We have a menu, Eric has designed the invitations, we have most of our addresses, I have bought my dress, my two hairstylist friends are doing my hair and decorating, and I have someone to do my makeup, we are working on getting a photographer, and Eric has begun working on the music (he is doing it himself b/c of his very large arsenal of music). I think that we have a good bit of the details worked out considering it is only January. We did alot early on, so that we could save our sanity as the date approaches. I don't want to be stressed out about my wedding.

When Eric proposed to me, he didn't have enough money to purchase a ring for me. Yesterday, we went to my friends dad, who is a jeweler to design my ring. We spent a long time picking out stones and settings, so that he can get them in for us to look at next Monday. As we were walking out, a really beutiful diamond caught Eric's eye, and he had me try it on. He says he thinks that is "the one". I will know Monday which one he is going to get me, and I will post some pretty pics.

As far as the honeymoon goes, we are not really doing it quite traditional. We figured after all of the hustle and bustle of the wedding, we would be exhausted. We have decided to wait until June to go on our honeymoon. We can have a little break instead of leaving right away for a vacation. We are going to the North Carolina vineyards for 2 days, then coming back for 1 night in order to go to a concert, and then Tuesday we will leave for somewhere tropical. Not sure where yet.

Random notes: In Feb. we are going to take Brendon to Disney World for a week so keep a lookout for lots of pics.

On January 28th, Brendon's father is taking me to court. He is trying to get out of paying his child support. The child support enforcement people will be representing my case, and they said it is actually likely that they will raise his payment instead of lowering it. His employer began garnishing his wages back in October, and since he is $27,000 behind, they have been taking out extra to pay for being in arrears. Right now, I am receiving his regular $340 payment plus an additional $340 payment every month. The extra cash every month has really helped me out. Anyway, I will post something about the outcome after we go to court.
